Matthew M. Williams graduated from Northern Illinois University, Cum Laude, in 2003. Matthew has focused his practice in the areas of Family Law, Domestic Relations, Divorce and Parentage/Paternity for nearly 23 years.

Prior to Law School, Matt worked with children in long term care. Those children had severe mental health and behavior issues and required long term, in patient care. Matt began his work as a childcare worker. Matt worked his way up to a childcare specialist. Matt helped create a position which worked as a liaison between the childcare workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, DCFS and the Court system. Matt worked in this new position for several years prior to leaving for law school.

Prior to working with children in the long-term care facility, Matt worked with Alzheimer’s/Dimentia patients in a long term care facility.

Given his extensive experience working with people suffering from mental health issues, Matt brings a unique perspective and ability to work with people in difficult times, and with difficult problems.

Matthew has been married for nearly 26 years. His wife has worked for DCFS for 25 years. His wife is as dedicated to helping children as Matt is to helping his clients. Matt and his wife have 1 son and 1 daughter. After only three years of College, his son graduated Loyola University with honors and special recognition. His son obtained his Major in Psychology with a Minor in History. His son is seeking to be admitted to law school. His daughter is still attending college, focused on Special Education, Art Education and Theater.
